ATW

Plant Expansion

Context Design Group designed a 94,000 SF speculative Technology Center for American Titanium Works. The concept was developed as a proposal for Clemson University ICAR campus in Greenville, South Carolina.

The exterior character of the Technology Center features a contemporary aesthetic through the use of metal panels and energy-efficiency glazing. Also prominently featured in the design are two decorative titanium strips which are used to display their product.

The ATW Technology Center was devised to serve three functions: public, administrative, and research & development. The Technology Center’s public functions are comprised of two Product Demonstration/Gallery Display areas and an Auditorium that can seat up 218 attendees. The research & development portion of the Technology Center is designed to hold four R&D Labs and a Prototype Testing Facility with truck docking access.  The administrative facility provides for the Technical Center’s office and common support functions such as a cafeteria and meeting rooms.
